Motorbase Performance

Motorbase Performance, also known as Oman Racing Team in recent years, has enjoyed much success in the British GT Championship, securing Teams' and Drivers' titles during its relatively short recent tenure.

David Bartrum's squad first graced a British GT grid in 2005 and '06 but it wasn't until 2012's return and subsequent stay that Motorbase found its feet. Not that it took long in the first place; when the dust settled on that year's five-way title showdown at Donington it was the Kent-based outfit's Porsche 997 GT3 of Michael Caine and Daniele Perfetti that emerged victorious, securing Motorbase the Drivers' title in its first season back.

Caine and new co-driver Ahmad Al Harthy finished fifth the following season before Motorbase upped the ante with a two-car Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 entry for 2014. The Teams' crown duly followed, while Al Harthy and Caine finished as narrow runners-up in the Drivers' standings.

Motorbase were only denied successive Teams' titles by Barwell Motorbase in 2015 but were, once again, race winners courtesy of Liam Griffin and Rory Butcher. This year sees their effort scaled back to a single Aston for Phil Dryburgh and 2014 GT4 champion Ross Wylie.
