10/11/2013 20 questions with… MICHAEL CAINE

After a strong 2012, Michael Caine and then team-mate Daniele Perfetti went to the Donington Park finale in with a mathematical chance of winning the drivers title after regularly featuring in the points, but never taking a win. Events unfolded, Caine drove a stormer after team-mate Perfetti drove his best race of the year and the rest as they say is history.

This season, Michael paired up with another driver who has notched up some miles in Porsches - Ahmad Al Harthy. The pairing were deemed a Gold and Silver partnership based on driver experiences, much to the upset of the drivers and the Oman Air Motorbase team. However, everyone got on with the job and the pair took two victories despite the addition of 75KG of ballast to their Porsche 997 GT3 R.

Unfortunately Caine and Al Harthy were knocked off in the Donington finale and lost out on a chance to challenge for the overall title. It was the first race in 2013 that the #1 Oman Air Motorbase Porsche didn't finish, but Michael Caine, being a truly good spirited chap, gave us some rather political responses to our interview, and in the interests of fairness (and because we like a spot of humour), we're giving everyone a chance to read his views.
